Vélez Rubio Weekly Market is held every Saturday morning in the centre of this historic town in the north of Almería province.
From around 9:00 AM until early afternoon, stalls are set up near the town centre offering fresh fruit and vegetables, clothing, household goods, plants and regional produce. The market attracts residents from surrounding villages as well as visitors travelling through the area.
Vélez Rubio is known for its impressive historic buildings, including the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, one of the largest churches in the province. The town also sits close to the Sierra María–Los Vélez Natural Park, an area famous for its mountain landscapes and wildlife.
On market day the town centre becomes lively as locals gather to shop, meet friends and enjoy coffee or tapas in the nearby cafés.
